Taking their first class win, the stellar team from Santa Barbara aboard Skian Dhu featuring amongst others former Farr 40 sailors Austin Herlihy and Jeff Grange from Crocodile Rock appeared to win for the best score and most fun at the regatta! In some very shifty atypical Long Beach Race Week conditions, a Catalina Eddy sent the wind to the SE at 5-12 knots and scrambled the standings on more than one race. No lead seemed to ever be safe and starting position was rendered irrelevant with Skian Dhu even winning one race from over early!

Taking second place for the regatta and securing the Sailing Pro Shop 2007 West Coast Championship was the team of Piranha that finished the season with three regatta wins (Midwinters, Yachting Cup and Cal Race Week) tied for first (2d) at Ahmanson and took the second here at LBRW. Not a bad season of racing considering the interruption to replace a sunken boat put right in the middle!

The last Fleet event will be the West Coast Championship Regatta which is also Rolex Big Boat Series in San Francisco. Until then, we will be racing at the pre-SB2KH one-design weekend and luau at Santa Barbara YC in late July.
