Great race conditions saw the biggest fleet of Farr 40’s in years sailing one-design in the Fleet Championship regatta. In fact, more sailors raced one-design on a Farr 40 than any other class at the regatta!

Newcomer Will Durant posted a bullet right out of the box and gave notice his team was going to be solid competitors in their first try of a Farr 40! Temptress was keeping it close until losing Steve Beck to a freak injury when his leg went through an opening port in the cockpit during a crash tack requiring a lot of stitches to repair. 2007 LBRW winner Skian Dhu pulled out second place for the regatta by winning the last race. Meanwhile, Piranha was on a roll winning four of seven races to take the Championship prize for the second year in a row.

The fleet also enjoyed great camaraderie with a dock party with Margaritas and BBQ pizzas and pulled pork appetizers on Friday and a private reception at ABYC on Saturday including the chance to see the races played out on the Kattack system.
