2013 FARR 40 WEST COAST FLEET HIGH POINT CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
The Organizing Authority (OA) for the Farr 40 West Coast Fleet High Point Championship Series (Championship) will be the Farr 40 West Coast Fleet (Fleet). The OA for each event in the Championship will be the host club for that regatta.
2.1 The Championship will be governed by the rules as defined in the 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the Farr 40 Class Association Corinthian Rules, except as modified by the 2013 Fleet Rules.
2.2 Crew limitations, sail limitations and weigh-in procedures shall be as defined in 2013 Fleet Rules.
2.3 For the duration of the Championship all moveable ballast shall be properly stowed, and water, dead weight or ballast shall not be moved, added, or removed for the purpose of changing trim or stability. Floorboards, bulkheads, doors, stairs, and water tanks shall be left in place and all cabin fixtures kept on board. The maximum amount of drinkable liquid on board shall not exceed three liters per crewmember per day. This changes RRS 51.
2.4 Individual Championship event yacht clubs will issue a Notice of Race (NOR) and Sailing Instructions (SI) as the OA for their events.
2.5 In the event of a conflict between this (NOR) and any Championship event NOR or SI, this NOR shall prevail.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The Championship is open to all yachts meeting the rules of the Farr 40 One Design Class and the requirements of this NOR.
3.2 All current members of the Fleet that have paid 2013 dues are eligible to compete. A completed and signed Entry Form (attached) must be delivered to the Fleet Secretary or Class Organizer prior to the first event sailed by each yacht in the Championship.
3.3 There is NO entry fee for the Championship.
3.4 All yachts are subject to inspections of compliance at any time during an event. This includes sail buttons, safety equipment and any other required equipment.

5.1 The Fleet High Point Scoring System will be used. Event points will be scored per the table below. This changes RRS A2.

Points Awarded for each event are based on # of entries. In the event of more than 12 event entries, 1st Place Finish will receive points = number of entries, 2nd Place Finish will receive points = number of entries minus 1, etc.
5.3 If there is a Championship score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s event scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favor of the boat(s) with the best score(s). If a tie remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last event. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken.
6.1 Penalties for breaking rules of Part 2 of the RRS shall be as described in the 2013 Fleet Rules with the following corrections:
8.6.1 Replace with “Taking a One-Turn penalty, including one (1) tack and one (1) gybe that, in all other respects, complies with RRS 44.2; or”
184.108.40.206 Replace with “A Two-Turns penalty in compliance with RRS 44.2; or”
6.2 The penalty for any infringement of the Farr 40 Class Association Rules, the 2013 Farr 40 West Coast Fleet Rules or the ORC Regulations is to be at the discretion of the International Jury or Protest Committee in consultation with the Executive Committee.
The 2013 Farr 40 West Coast Fleet High Point Championship Series winner will be awarded the West Coast Season Championship perpetual trophy.
